Game Plan

When I was pregnant, I decided that it would be a great idea to sign up for the Seattle Rock n' Roll Half Marathon. How hard could it be to train with a baby? Well, now that Cooper is here, I am finding all kinds of excuses not to workout. Too cold, too rainy, too sleepy, too busy, too cranky... It is difficult to workout, but not impossible.

In hopes of motivating and supporting me, Chris signed up for the half too. So June 22nd is D-Day. In the meantime Chris and I are signed up for two great little runs right here on the ridge. (Seattle friends- you are welcome to join us! I even added the links to make it easy for you!!)

March 16th - 5K  St. Patty's Day Dash. This little run is fabulous. It ends at the local Irish Pub. Strollers are allowed, we just have to run at the back of the pack. Which really is too bad because typically I am leading the way. (insert sarcasm)

May 4th - 8K Cinco de Mayo Run. This run begins and ends at Mt. Si High School (MSHS- what, what?!). The course is "flat & fast." Perf. Walkers and strollers are welcome!

June 22nd - 13 miles Seattle Rock n' Roll Half Marathon. Cooper will be cheering Mom and Dad on from the sidelines for this one. If I end up walking, I am just fine with that. My goal is to cross the finish line.

I operate much better with an end goal in mind. That is all this is - a goal to motivate me to be active. I am not looking to be the next Prefontaine. This is for my health. I enjoy being active. I ran before Cooper, and I plan to run after.  Today I started with the coldest, hardest 2 miles I have ever ran. The last run I went on was about a year ago.

Now, I have posted it. It is for real. Hold me accountable friends.
