34 Weeks and a Toddler Bed

So everyone tells you that kids have their own schedule. Their own agenda. Their own timeline. But my type A-control freak-gotta have a plan personality, does not hear these types of warnings.

I had a plan, a schedule, that we (as a family unit), were going to follow before Adeline arrived. All four of us had a role in this plan, and thus far only one of us has followed that plan- Chris. He is working hard and helping out as much as he can. The rest of us however…

Cooper. He was supposed to keep doing what he had been doing. Sleeping like a champ through the night, taking 2-4 hour naps, and just being his darling self. Well, he mixed things up by deciding NOW would be the time to climb out of his crib! Yep. 21 months and he is just too old for this baby stuff. I didn't have toddler bed conversion on the agenda until he was like 3! What the heck kiddo!?

So after several frustrating nights of co-sleeping while we waited for the safety rail for the toddler bed to arrive, I finally said, "No more!" Chris took the front of the crib off, I threw some couch cushions on the ground and BAM. We have a toddler bed.

It took a few nights of tough love, but he is definitely getting there. He is well on his way to successfully converting. Just in time for sis to arrive. That won't mess with his new routine at all, right?!

He preferred to sleep on the cushions almost every nap and night at first. He has since moved back into the big boy bed. We have a rail on the toddler bed now, so he won't fall out. The cushions remain, just incase he wants to snuggle down there too.

Other than that he has stuck to the plan and is being his darling little self.

Watermelon and sprinklers with the neighbors.

Me. I was supposed to have a pregnancy just like I did with Cooper. Easy. Turns out I am suffering from O.L.D. disease. Nothing serious. In all reality, this pregnancy is a breeze compared to so many others out there. Just not how I pictured it. I am just slightly more miserable than I was with Cooper.

Thankfully my Dad has been moved to a job in Seattle and has been staying with us for the last few weeks. Considering my doc essentially banned me from picking up Cooper, it has been quite nice to have an extra set of hands around. Especially since Chris has been out of town the last four out of five weeks. Trying to get things taken care of before lil' miss arrives. Cooper has loved having his Kpa around. He is obsessed with Kpa's truck and all things construction equipment.

He is learning the tricks of the Kpa trade. Here they are rabbit proofing our backyard.

Thanks for all your help Dad!

Miss Adeline. She has definitely "dropped." That does not mean that she is coming early, necessarily. It just means that at my 32 week appointment my doctor mentioned that she is already head down and quite low. She is on her own schedule apparently. :)

I am learning to let go of my plans and just let things happen as they will! It really is better that way.
