One of those mornings...

So my friend, Megan, shared a hysterical story about her daughter yesterday. Essentially it involved baby poop everywhere (baby, hair, crib...). One of those blowouts that requires a bath.

Well, Cooper decided to give Harper a run for her money this morning.

Sidebar: I have never been happier that I decided to forgo my shower to clean the bathrooms (which have been seriously neglected) during Cooper's nap. So you can picture me still in my pjs as this story unfolds. Thank God.

Here is what went down...

Cooper was happily playing in his jumperoo. I was in the kitchen preparing to unload the clean dishes from the dishwasher, until I realized the dishes were still in need of cleaning. Apparently, last night I had added the detergent but forgot to hit the start button. Oh well, I thought, that chore will have to be pushed off. Bummer. I guess I will have to go play with my adorable little bundle of joy.

I walk over to Cooper, who is all smiley in his jumper, and it hits me! The smell is intense from a distance. I pick him up and the source is right there poop. e v e r y w h e r e.

I quickly realized there was no way I could hold him and not get poop on myself. So I just wore it. Literally.

There was no way to get him out of his onesie without doing some additional damage. So I just ripped his clothes off like a bandaid. Took his FULL diaper off and headed to the bathroom for an impromptu bath.

Cooper is really starting to enjoy bath time, and I love to see his little eyes light up and his legs kick when he sees his little blue tub. It is sweet as can be. Today, he was so excited for this extra bath he gave me a little bonus treat. An excited pee! All over the bathroom floor. Which I just cleaned not 30 minutes before, mind you.

Screw it. Pee on the floor. I can clean that up later, I thought, no need to cover him up. He got it all out.  I held him so he could stand next to the tub and watch as I filled up his bath. I was checking the temp of the water when I felt it. The warm sensation on my leg. The kid was "standing" (with my support) and peeing on the side of the tub and it was ricocheting off the tub all over my leg. In some a strange way, I was proud. It was his first stand-up-pee, no hands, freestyle.  If his dad had been there he may have shed a tear.

Anyway, I wanted to document the carnage so I could look back on this moment fondly when he becomes an Olympian, or plays on his first t-ball team. Same thing to me.

P&G made a great commercial that I thought of while I was scrubbing out the poop. Watch it here.

Keep in mind three things: 1) This kid had a diaper on 2) I had to get that onesie over his head 3) the changing pad cover on the right was the second thing that his poop saturated, the first being my shirt.

Now, I need to scoot so I can hopefully get that shower and clean the jumperoo and bathroom floor before the little one wakes again. Not likely.
