Your vocabulary has exploded. You are speaking in more complete sentences. Your dad and I are always laughing at something new you say.
Favorite sayings:
"I tink so..." meaning I think so
"Stickers for a minute?" (asking your dad to play a game on his phone)
"I woke up" (from your bed when you wake up)
"Calm down mama!"
"Mac!" Every time you see a semi truck. You call them "Mac" because of the movie Cars.
"What time is it?"
You are the pickiest eater ever. You WILL eat:
mac n cheese "mac cheese"
fruit
smoothies (I sneak kale in your smoothies, ha!)
fruit snacks
pizza
...ummmm.... and that is about it...we try everyday to get you to eat something new, but you are stubborn.
You are genuinely showing interest in your sister. She laughs at you and you LOVE it. I have caught you giving her hugs. Once when you were wrapping your arms around her you said, "I proud of you sister."
You still love to cuddle. You are the happiest when Adeline is asleep and you have your mom and dad quietly sitting on the couch watching Toy Story. This is a very rare occasion. We all soak it in.
You insist on sleeping with Teddy, Boo Boos (blue bear), and your blankey. You have recently added a huge stuffed dog. There is hardly room for you in your bed.
You have challenged me in ways I never saw coming. You know what you want and you do whatever you can to get it. You test your limits constantly and consistently. If I give you an inch you take two miles. Timeouts and taking toys away are the typical punishments around here. I often tell you to "be nice" to your toys or your sister when you are not being gentle. Now you tell me "be nice to the car seat" or "be nice to my blankey" when I am tossing things around. I also tell you to "calm down" when you are spiraling out of control into a tantrum. Now you tell me to "calm down, Mama." This includes a finger point and scrunched up face (no idea where you learned that...)
You still love cars and construction equipment. You have recently taken to puzzles. You will work on a puzzle and finish it all on your own. It is amazing to me how quickly you have picked up on making puzzles! It is about the only quiet activity you will do...besides the Ipad or watching a movie of course.
I know parents are biased, but I really do think you are the smartest little guy around. :) You are only 2 and 1/2 and you know all your letters upper and lower case. That is impressive enough, but you know so many of the letter sounds too! I would love to take all the credit here. Like the fact that I am a teacher had something to do with this, but in all actuality, you showed interest and I just provided the knowledge. Since you were an infant, you have loved books and this interest has only gotten stronger as you have gotten older. I love watching you learn.
That time I tried to cut your hair instead of paying for you to scream bloody murder at the hair salon. You looked like a bald old man. And you screamed even louder and harder at home. Oops. So we are back to the hair salon. :)
Your eyelashes are unreal. It should be illegal for boys to have this great of lashes.
Trying to sneak out of the store with an Elsa doll.
Dressed yourself! Your "queen" shirt and "booty" boots (aka Woody from Toy Story). You insist on wearing these boots often.
You fly on this bike.
As I said, you have become a BUSY and DESTRUCTIVE little man. After I get done feeding your sister or putting her to bed, I walk into scenes like this often.
You "Booty" aka Woody hat
You insist on doing things yourself.
Emotions are all over the board. :)
You LOVE LOVE LOVE to cook.
Everyone needs a Lighting McQueen costume to wear while playing in the back yard.
Checking out the ducks at the park
You often ask to eat "in the castle" which means eat under the table
Your favorite puzzles are the Cars puzzles. You are so proud when you do it "all myself!"
Buddy, you are a bright, loving, persistent little boy. Key word being little boy. No longer are you a baby- even your adorable, wrist roll is gone. I don't know when that happened but it makes me sad. I can't go back in time and relive those sweet baby days. They are just gone. I feel like that just flew by! As sad as it is that you are no longer a baby, I find great comfort in knowing that I get to spend my days watching you grow and learn. I love you. So much.
