Adeline- 6 Months

Weight: 18.86 pounds (90%)
Height: 25.75 (38%)
Diapers: size 4
Clothes: nine month mostly, and some 12 month
Sleep: three solid naps, bedtime around 7:30. You have decided that waking up every three or four hours is fun. I disagree.
Eating: nursing and we started solids. We had to postpone solid foods because you broke out in an unexplained rash. More on that later...

Check out that sweet dimple! You are sitting up pretty well on your own. Not quite independent yet, but getting there. You like sitting up because you can see everything around you better.

(This picture was taken at the end of your 16 day bronchiolitis sickness. You still have your "sick eyes" but smilin' none-the-less. )

Everyone tells you "every kid is different." Hell, how many times did I say that when I was teaching?!  I know this statement to be true. BUT I have been amazed at how early these little humans reveal their personalities and preferences. For example, I thought baby toys were kind of silly because Cooper really wanted nothing to do with them unless I was holding him...while manipulating the toy...while also making entertaining sounds...and actions. I mean, why even bother with the toys?! Then you came along. You love playing with toys, trying to grab and bend and chew any toy you can get your hands on. It absolutely amazes me how long you will play independently. :)

Such a pretty girl

You love playing with your feet. I think I love it more. So cute.

You started would food, right before Christmas. Your first meal was avocado. You were not so sure about the taste but you enjoyed playing with the spoons and getting food everywhere. :)

Watch your first meal here

So far you have had avacado, sweet potato, carrots, and apples. You did not seem stoked about any of it, but you ate it. :)  You like being in your high chair and being a part of family dinner time, including trying to feed yourself.

Dad found us taking a little snooze.

So happy in your jumper

Even though you are not pictured, Adeline, you did help us ring in the new year. Cooper experienced his first cheese fondue (although all he ate was the cut up bread and apples) and we watched movies. It was one heckuva New Years Bash.

Cheers to 2015!

Less than a week after getting over brochilioitis you started to develop a rash, these tiny little dots...

That three days later turned into this...

Our pediatrician had us go to Seattle Children's Urgent Care in Bellevue, because of course this was on a Sunday. You did not have ANY OTHER symptoms. The rash stayed on your arms, hands, and legs. Other than the huge red welts, you were totally yourself. It lasted for 8 days and even after that the welts took forever to fade away.

But you didn't seem to mind.

We postponed started solid foods again until after the rash cleared. The doctors who saw you were pretty sure this was not an allergic reaction because you were not itchy at all. But we waited, just to be safe.

These photos...I can't get myself to delete any of them. Every one makes me smile.

This series of pictures basically sums up a day in the life of Adeline...

"My brother loves me and wants to play with me!"

"Oh, it looks like I'm losing him."

"Yep, he has remembered that he is two. Relax bro, life is too short."

"I'll just wait while he works this tantrum out"

"A book! This is fun..."

"...turns out, it's not good to eat."

Thank God for your patience and sweetness, little girl.

Our little Seahawks cheering on our team in another playoff appearance! Cooper said he would take a picture with his sister on the stairs. Then, he threw a fit. So this is as good as it gets!

But how cute is our girl?

Happy half birthday Addie J. Love you  so so much.
