Cooper is TWO

Cooper, you are TWO!

Weight: 29.8 pounds (68%)
Height: 34.75 in (69%)
Head Circumference: 20.51 in (99%)

Clothes: 2T
Diapers: size 5 (we have a potty for you now, and we have started reading potty picture books. You show some interest, but we are not pushing you to start potty training yet!)

You made me a mama two years ago, a title that I am most proud of. Being your mom is simply the best.

You bring JOY to our lives every single day. People say that a lot, that children bring "joy" into their lives. It's over use seems to take away some of its meaning. But JOY is the only word that describes the emotion you bring.

When you look at me with those big brown eyes and say "I wuv you" it makes my heart stop for just a second. You are joy.

You are still that reserved little boy who prefers to quietly observe before jumping into anything. You are starting to show us that through all that observing you have been picking up quite a few things, including saying "Damn it" in appropriate context. Your dad has taken full responsibility for that one- still trying to break you of it.

You chat away these days. Your first sentence was, "I 'wuv' (love) chocolate." This is your go-to sentence. Just today alone you have told me you wuv cars, grapes, blocks, and mama :)

When you see football on TV you say, "Seahawks" and anything baseball related you say "Mariners."

You adore the neighbor kids and you constantly ask to play with them. Now that you know them all by name, you just fire off as many names as you can think of until I say yes. It goes something like this. "Mama, play? Chloe? Layla? Hannah? Becca? Tally? Reece? Nash? Scarlet? Lance? Summer? Vana (Savannah)?"   No joke.

You love all things construction and cars. You want to "drive" everything. Recently, you have even taken to watching the movie Cars.

You really enjoy cooking. Even if that means slapping a piece of cheese between two pieces of bread, you are so proud of what you make! "I make! I make! Num Num."

It has been wonderful to watch you learn how to be a big brother. At first you really were not so sure we should keep Adeline, "Baby out?" But now you proudly walk up to her and say, "Hey, sis!" all the time. You think giving her knucks is hysterical - every time- at least five times a day. You often ask me to lay sister down on the couch. At first I thought this was a ploy to get me to yourself, but after doing it a few times I realized that you like to lay next to her. Eye-to-eye, literally. You are a great big brother.

A look at your life at age 2:

Swimming at Lake Sammamish

Swimming at TPC with Dad (and sis was chilling in the shade)

Playing with Harper Mae. I wish we lived closer to the Snyders, but at the same time, I think you and Harper would be trouble together :)

Playing with Chloe

Fun at Remilinger Farms. You loved it!! "Wides!? Wides?!" aka rides. You were fearless on everything- even the big rides. I didn't get pictures of those because I was busy nursing Adeline.

"Cheese" while riding the train

Family walks to get fro yo in the town center. You are not so willing to share… :)

You LOVE your cars and tractors. You can name every piece of construction equipment. I frequently find you under the table with all your cars, trucks and tractors. You tell me it is the garage. :)

Still obsessed with electronics. Computers, iPhones, the touch pad to pay at the grocery store. Anything with a screen and or keys. "Type? Peese?"

Your fourth? M's game, but first game as a family of 4. You say you "wuv Mariners" and while your watching you say "ready set GO!" with every pitch. You make your daddy proud.

This was the first game you were interested in the game AND the hydroboat races on the big screen. :)

"Hi, sis!"

I know you look a little creepy in this photo, but it must be noted that you take blankey everywhere I will let you. It stays in the house and sometimes makes it to the car. You always ask to "cup" which means cover up. One day you got so frustrated that you could not walk around covered up, and you kept throwing a fit. Therefore I tied it around you.

Also, Grandma bought this blanket for Adeline and you highjacked it before she was even born.

"I make!"

One morning you discovered your shadow. This went on for no less that 5 minutes.

Kisses for Grandma. Who you often call "grammy" and you came up with that all on your own.

Telling your sister to be brave before the doctors appointment. You both had to get shots.

2 year and 2 month vaccinations. Daddy had to work. It was just the three of us. You were SO good!

Some videos from recently:

Each day you say or do something new. You entertain yourself for longer periods of time. I love walking into a room and finding you "reading" or building something. You are turning into a loving little boy. Happy second birthday Buddy, we love you.
