One Month

Really? It has been a whole month? A month since Cooper entered the world? Yes.

Cooper looks SO tiny here, just two days old. It is amazing how much he has grown in just 4 short weeks.

I know I have a heard a million times that time flies, but now I really understand.

Cooper, your dad and I love you SO much. You are our everything.

The many faces of Cooper

 Enough photos mom...FEED ME!

Cooper, here are some highlights from the first 4 weeks of your life:
  • You met your pediatrician for the first time two days after being home from the hospital, September 19th. You weighed in at 7 pound 4 ounces and measured 19.5 inches. It is totally normal for little ones to loose a little weight after they are born, so your doctor was not worried. She just had us some back on Friday to weigh you and make sure you were gaining weight. When we returned Friday you had packed on a few ounces. She was happy with that, and you did not need any formula to supplement breast milk. (You were a very good eater from the beginning, it made life easier on mom. Thanks Buddy.)
  • At your 2 week check up, on October 1st, you weighed in at 8 pounds 1 ounce! (See you were a good eater!) You had already grown a whole inch, measuring 20.5 inches long. You had to get your little baby foot pricked for the PKU test. You were very tough, and only squealed a little bit when they pricked your heel. I held you while they took the drops of blood and you were pretty patient.
  • We have been at home, getting to know each other. You are a pretty good communicator. You cry when you need something, and once I figure out what that something is, you typically calm right down. Most of the time a diaper change, milk, blanket, nap or snuggle will make you happy.
  • Overall, you are a good sleeper. You sleep for about 2 and a half hours to six hours at a time every night.
  • You are very good about taking a bottle. Every night you snuggle up with dad and he feeds you a bottle of breast milk.
  • You are still getting used to bath time. It is not your favorite thing. We do our best to keep you warm, but you really don't like being naked. Your dad is always in charge of bath time. :)
  • You are growing. You are almost too long for your newborn clothes :( but the next size is still a little too big. I am continuing to squeeze you into your newborn stuff.
  • You love being in the Moby wrap. It instantly settles you down. I love it because it gives me two free hands, and I still feel like I am snuggling with you!
  • Everyday you become more and more alert, holding eye contact a little longer. I just can't wait until you smile! (for real smile, not a gas smile)
  • We love you more and more each day.

And this little video captures your precious stage as a newborn.

  1. You have an adorable baby boy Jacquee. Josie and I were oohhing and ahhing over the video. Of course, Marshall says "Why did she post that?" As in, when is something exciting going to happen? Such a boy. Just you wait. Congratulations!
