Goodbye first home

It was our first home together. We bought it together. Before we were married. Before we were engaged. Risky? Some might have thought so, but we never did. The only thing risky about it was buying in May of 2006, about as close to the peak of the housing market as you can get. But if we have learned anything from this experience, it is that you CAN NOT time the market. Fortunately, we are now able to make things work, so we can move into our forever house. But this house, this house has been great. Here are just a few memories...

  • The Jetta and the H3! (one of these was purchased without my support...can ya guess?)
  • Stone lived with us for a year. Chris and Stone had only met a handful of times before she moved in. Good thing they liked each other :)
  • Kyle (Chris's brother) lived with us for a year. Took a little hiatus. Then moved back in with us for a while.
  • Keri and Peter (Chris's sister and brother-in-law) lived with us for about 4 or 5 months while they were looking for a home to buy in Seattle after living in San Fran.
  • ChiPsi-chotic part I and part II
  • UW and Seahawk football parties

  • Endless hours of Mario Cart
  • First Christmas Tree

  • The day Chris proposed. Also the same day a huge storm hit the greater Seattle area.
  • We got married

  •  Cumpkin Parving Parties (despite the expressions, they are having fun!)

  • Hosting our first and second Thanksgiving
  • Foosball/painting the walls with "cheap" jeans...for the record Stone said it.
  • Rock Band
  • Molly's (our boxer) first home!

  • We found out we are going to be parents!

We still own this house, but tenants are moving in on August 25th. Thats right...WE HAVE RENTERS! They signed a year long lease the same day we were moving out of the house and into our new house. It was a crazy day, but a very VERY good day.

Now, it is on to new memories in our "Forever House."
