We have been keeping a little secret... WE ARE EXPECTING OUR FIRST CHILD!! Can you believe it? Saying, "We are excited" doesn't even begin to do justice to how we feel.
This photo is me at 12 weeks. We told coworkers, extended family and friends when I was at 13 weeks. Our friends have been so sweet, sent meaningful cards, emails, and texts. I also told my students at 13 weeks. They had the PUREST and happiest reaction. They started cheering and clapping. A few of my girl students asked,"What's her name?" Sign maybe? We shall see in a about a month! We are going to find out the sex and share the name. Many of my students asked to "hug the baby" and wrapped their little arms around my tummy. I love my job. I am going to miss teaching next year. BUT SO EXCITED for whats to come!
My coworkers, and the parents of my students, are super excited as well. I have received several gifts already; including: swaddle blankets, binkies, receiving blankets, pack and play (gently used, but good as new!), nightlight, tulips and Samoas. I can't believe how generous everyone has been already. It is truly a blessing to have these people in my life.
And this little nugget (ultrasound at 11 weeks) is very blessed to have all these people in his/her life too! Expected arrival: September 20, 2012.
We have another AMAZING blessing to share...We bought our "Forever House." Just like everyone else, we have been effected by this lovely "lull"(ha!) in the economy. So the house that we saw ourselves in for 2-3 years has turned into 6 years. Now we are finally at a place where we can purchase our "forever house." We are going to put our current house on the market for rent-to-own or just rent it. We have a few months to figure out the exact details, because we are building our new house!
In front of our lot, in Snoqualmie Ridge! We met our new neighbors when we put up our SOLD sign. Our backyard has a great view of Mt. Si.
More views.
This is what the front of our house faces, this adorable little playground.
Yes, it is an empty lot. Which means it will be a while, but it is worth it for the house we really want. The completion date is August 2nd. I am telling myself the end of August, as construction is never done on time. Which will make for a hectic time before the babe gets here, but so worth it! We have very helpful and supportive friends and family who have already offered to do all they can.
So, we have been designing the details of our house. I started with this model home, that I LOVE.
Our house will have a smaller version of this. It is my FAVORITE part of the house.
Then we went to the design center and started picking things out! The designer who is helping us, actually designed the model home I love. She has been GREAT! Yet, another blessing since I am horrible at making decisions.
She helped me pull this together. I am still deciding if I want the distressed dark hardwood or the more finished looking hardwood, but I think I am going to go with the more finished look (which are the actual floors in this room). We still need to pick out the bathroom details, but we have a lot of things picked out already!
We have so much to be thankful for. It seems almost unreal.

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you and your growing fam!!!
